200m Peanut Dash

Introduction

In this game, you play an elephante and a puppyblew. You have to charge up the power bar, throw the peanut and guide the puppyblew, preferably catching the peanut! It can be a pretty simple game but as always, you need to practise! I will try to explain some strategies and you can make up your own mind about which one/s work for you.

Controls & some tips

At first when you are powering up to throw the peanut, you use the left, right and up arrow keys. It tells you to tap the left and right keys, you may think that it means to tap the left then right then left etc. A much easier and less tiring way is to tap them together! I usually use my left hand first (use your right hand if left-handed) to get it as far as I can, then come in with my right hand, that way you can get the power bar nearly full! Make sure that you don't lift your fingers too far off the keys, otherwise it is harder. Once you have the bar as full as you can, tap the up arrow key and get ready to fetch! However much you fill up the energy bar, will determine how far the peanut will fly.

Now you will be controlling the Puppyblew! Use the right arrow key to move the puppyblew to just behind the peanut's shadow. When I am there, I continuously tap the left then right arrow keys (not together this time!) When a log is nearly in front of you, quickly tap the up arrow key. Learning when to do this, without crashing, might take some time though. When the peanut's shadow is getting larger (meaning it is getting closer to the ground) get ready to catch it, preferably try to catch it in mid-air! If you don't catch the peanut, you will not receive any points for that jump.

Types of jumps

  • Straight Jump - Up + Right
  • Front Flip - Left + Up + Right
  • Back Flip - Right + Up + Left
  • 2x Front Flip - Left + Right + Left + Right + Up
  • 2x Back Flip - Right + Left + Right + Left + Up
The plus sign doesn't mean to press them all at once, it just means "and then" or "followed by". Try to learn the 2x Flips, they give a lot more points if you catch the peanut while doing one of them. So if you catch the peanut with a Straight Jump it is a 10 point bonus, with a Front/Back flip it is a 30 point bonus and with a 2x Front/Back flip it is a 50 point bonus! So, I suggest pressing the buttons needed beforehand (before a log) and press the Up arrow key when needed, making sure that you punch (not literally!) the keys back in before you get to the next jump!

Calculating your score

Your score will be determined using: Distance + Logs jumped + Peanut Bonus
Distance: Is quite simply, how far the peanut was thrown! If the energy bar is nearly filled, the peanut would fly a lot further and give more points than if the bar was only halfway.
Logs Jumped: The amount of logs you've jumped over successfully and 10 points for each.
Peanut Bonus: If you caught the peanut in a jump, if so, it will be 10, 30 or 50 points.

Rewards

Unfortunately, there isn't an avatar for the game but you can win one of these shiny trophies for your trophy cabinent, if you get a high score!
